The BIG party for all attending alumnae, spouses, and guests at 320 Senate Street. Classes meet together in designated areas—Alumnae Association Award Presentations—College Update—Heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer.
Saturday, April 24
Alumnae Day ’10 offers a new slate of activities for reunion classes! We begin in the morning with a 4 Mile Walk, forming a “Sea of Purple” at the State House and flowing down MainStreet to our campus and through the historic campus gates, followed by a reception and family day activities. The Men of Columbia College will participate with the walk and will also mix and mingle throughout the day.
If you are walking “Through These Gates,”
the following schedule applies:
- 7:30–8:30 a.m. Coffee and Registration at Breed Leadership Center and
transportation by trolley to the State House.
Pick up your event t-shirt and join the “Sea of Purple” as we
converge on the State House for a morning of fun and fitness!
The 50th Reunion Class of 1960 will serve as Grand Marshals.
- 9:00 a.m. Kick-off, State House Grounds
- 9:15 a.m. “Through These Gates” Walk to Campus Begins
- 10:30 a.m. Gather for the “Through These Gates”
Ceremonial Mile, Maxwell House
Those Who Are Not Walking:
- 9 a.m.–10 a.m. Alumnae Day Registration, Breed Leadership Center
- 9 a.m.–10:15 a.m. Campus Tours Available

- 10:45 a.m. Reception Celebrating Columbia College and Honoring Retired Faculty and Staff, Breed Leadership Center. Spend time with those Faculty and Staff who are near and dear to your heart! Hear from Dr. Caroline Whitson as she brings an update
on Columbia College.
- 11:45 a.m. Transportation begins to Price Athletic Pavilion
- 12 noon–1:30 p.m. Picnic Lunch, Price Athletic Pavilion and Younts Soccer Stadium
- 1:30 p.m.–3 p.m. Reunion Activities, Price Athletic Pavilion and Younts Soccer Stadium. Enjoy music. Entertainment and activities for children provided. Classes will meet together for formal class reunions. Class photos will be made.
- 1:30 p.m. Man on the Hall! Men of Columbia College Storytelling and Shooting the Breeze, Price Athletic Pavilion.
- 2 p.m. Honors Program 25th Anniversary Celebration (For Honors Program Alumnae). Edens Library room 303. Join Drs. John Zubizarreta, Paula Shirley and current Honors students for 25 years of reminiscing!
Overnight Accommodations
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hampton Inn Vista. The
rate is $119 per night for a room with one king or two queen beds.
