The study of history and political science helps students develop a meaningful perspective on human civilization and civic responsibility. Through strong academic preparation and practical application, the department strives to foster critical and inquiring minds, to deepen students’ appreciation of their heritage, to increase their understanding of their rights and responsibilities in public affairs and to facilitate the quest for meaning in an active life.
Students majoring in History, Political Science, or Public Affairs have the background for further graduate study or successful careers in a wide range of professions.
