The conference is being held October 3 - 4, at the downtown Clarion Inn. Dr. Jason Munsell is currently serving as vice president for the association and has served as conference coordinator for the much-anticipated meeting of educators and other communication professionals. The conference agenda features presentations by many members of the Columbia College faculty as well as students.
Dr. Tamara Burk, Dr. Helen Tate, Michael Stutz, and Kyle Love are panelists for a discussion called "Invigorating the Future by Re-visiting the Past: Communication Studies as an Interdisciplinary Field of Study."
Dr. Tate also chairs a student panel called, "Communication and Leadership: Student Experiences at Columbia College." Students on the panel include Kim Alpaugh, Lateshia Beachum, Coley Ray, and Morgan Smalls.
Kyle Love is chairing a student panel called, "Discussing the Past, Present, and Future of Communication Centers." Students on the panel include Kate Huggins, Diana Lynde, and Coley Ray.
Lateshia Beachum is on the Mary E. Jarrard Undergraduate Paper Competition Top Papers Panel. She is presenting her research called, "Ideological Rhetorical Perspectives in Cartoons and Animation: The 'N***a Moment' and Internalized Racism in in The Boondocks."
