Columbia College Ranks As One of Top Comprehensive Undergraduate Colleges in the South

U.S. News & World Report, in its 2006 "America's Best Colleges" publication, ranks Columbia College as one of the top comprehensive undergraduate colleges in the South for the twelth consecutive year.

The College is ranked in the Best Comprehensive Colleges - Bachelor's category, which includes 324 colleges nationwide. These institutions focus on undergraduate education and offer a range of degree programs in the liberal arts and in professional fields such as business, nursing, and education.

U.S. News ranks schools based on their academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving. The categories are in coordination with the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching's classification, which are the most widely accepted system used by researchers, governments and foundations.
