Columbia College provides a variety of special services and opportunities
to students who commute to campus each day.
Commuter students have designated representation on many student organizations,
including the Student Christian Association, Columbia College Activities
Board, Council for Community Action, and Student Senate. Commuter students
are also encouraged to participate in all campus clubs, organizations,
and activities.
Parking
Commuting students may park in lot A on Colonial Drive, lot C at the corner
of Colonial Drive and Clarendon Street, and lot D on Burke Street between
the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
All Columbia College students must have a parking decal. Parking decals
may be obtained from the Columbia College Police Department.
Mailboxes
Every commuter student has a mailbox at the post office located in the
Student Center. The mailbox is vital to on-campus communications, and all
students are expected to check their mailbox regularly.
Student Health Services
All Health Center services are available to full-time commuting students,
with the exception of off-campus physician visits. The Health Center staff
will assist the student with resources to acquire appropriate medical care
as deemed necessary. The use of private local physicians and/or medical
centers located in the city is encouraged. Commuting students who use the
Doctor's Care facilities on Forest Drive or in Northeast Columbia also
have the advantage of the ten percent discount with their Columbia College
ID.
