The Green at Columbia College is a large open lawn space that is carefully maintained for student activities and campus events. Students can often be seen catching some rays or studying with class groups around its shady perimeter. The northeast corner of The Green is punctuated by the campus flag pole, which is occasionally a gathering spot for special observances like the anniversary of September 11, or the start of the Ludy Bowl Parade.
