Victoria Dozier, First Lady of Columbia College

Victoria Dozier’s journey is deeply rooted in Columbia, South Carolina. After relocating from New York as a child, she grew up just one block from Columbia College — a full-circle detail that makes her return to campus especially meaningful. She attended Richland One and Two public schools before becoming a first-generation college graduate at the University of South Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Although President John H. Dozier and Mrs. Dozier were friends in high school, their story truly began years later when they reconnected at a mutual friend’s holiday party after college. What started as a renewed friendship soon became a shared vision for service, leadership, and family. Two years later, they were married and began building a life grounded in faith, joy, and a deep commitment to community.

Mrs. Dozier later earned her Master of Business Administration from Belmont University. She brings more than 30 years of experience in engineering, business, and sales, having worked with companies such as Amoco Chemical, Square D, and Johnson & Johnson. She is also co-owner of Language Buzz, Columbia’s first world language center, reflecting her passion for global learning and cultural connection.

She serves as a commissioner for the Columbia Museum of Art and is actively engaged with arts and civic organizations, including the Boston Museum of Fine Arts Fashion Council, Boston Arts Academy Advisory Council Liaison Board, ArtsEmerson Advisory Council, the Robert Mills Neighborhood Association, The Sophisticates, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and The Links, Incorporated.

Victoria enjoys gathering people around the table at Maxwell House, fostering meaningful conversations, supporting the arts, traveling, and spending family time with their three children, Olivia, Evans, and Sophia.

Office of the First Lady Priorities

Mrs. Dozier is the visionary behind initiatives such as Wellness in Action, Dining with the Doziers, and the Koala Zen Room — all designed to cultivate confidence, connection, and holistic growth among students. Her work intentionally centers around the local community, aligning the college’s mission with tangible solutions that address health disparities, educational access, and neighborhood revitalization. Victoria is passionate about empowering students with life skills that complement their academic education — from professional etiquette and personal branding to leadership development and wellness advocacy.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

Since returning to Columbia College in 2023, Victoria has championed initiatives that elevate student leadership, wellness, and civic engagement. Victoria views her role as both supportive and catalytic — partnering with President Dozier to strengthen connections between campus and community while helping students thrive academically, professionally, and personally. Together, they approach leadership as a shared calling.

Championing Student Success and Well-Being

More Than a Meal

Dining with the Doziers is an experience rooted in connection, mentorship, and intentional conversation. Each dinner is thoughtfully curated to model professional etiquette, meaningful dialogue, and authentic leadership. Students gain practical life skills — from navigating formal dining to engaging in thoughtful conversation — while also building confidence in settings that prepare them for internships, careers, and civic leadership. Dining with the Doziers reflects the couple’s shared belief that education extends beyond the classroom. Around the table, stories are exchanged, ideas are explored, and students are reminded that they are seen, valued, and capable of extraordinary impact.

Wellness in Action

This event energizes and empowers the 29203 community by bridging campus resources with neighborhood needs.

College Health & Wellness Student Ambassadors collaborate with area K-12 schools to build peer leadership in health habits through exercise sessions, nutritious cooking demos, mental-wellness discussions, and campus tours.

There's also a 5K walk/Run/Roll for students, families, and community members and a wellness vendor market featuring healthy products, interactive workshops, family-friendly activities, and community-focused resources. Proceeds are then invested back into healtheducation initiatives at Columbia College.

Wellness Pods

Today’s students are navigating academic pressure, career preparation, and personal growth at an unprecedented pace. Outdoor Wellness Pods offer a tangible solution: small, beautifully designed spaces nestled within campus green spaces where students can practice mindfulness, hold peer conversations, study quietly, or simply breathe. These pods will serve as visible reminders that their well-being matters. This initiative expands our holistic wellness efforts, including Wellness in Action and the Koala Zen Room, and reinforces Columbia College’s leadership in creating innovative, student-centered environments. Your investment in an Outdoor Wellness Pod supports student resilience, mental health, and long-term success. Naming opportunities are available, allowing donors to create a lasting legacy that directly supports student well-being for generations to come. Together, we can build spaces that not only enhance campus beauty — but strengthen lives.

Help Support Our Students

The Dozier Scholarship Fund is designed to provide financial support to deserving students who may not have the means to pursue higher education. This scholarship aims to alleviate the financial burden associated with attending college, ensuring that promising individuals have the opportunity to pursue their academic and career goals. Through this scholarship, we strive to empower students to fulfill their potential and contribute positively to their communities and beyond.
