Update: Thursday, January 22, at 11:40 AM

Dear Columbia College Community,

We are writing to share a few timely updates related to health awareness, potential inclement weather, and upcoming athletics schedule changes.

Measles Awareness and Health Reminders
With recently reported measles cases in South Carolina, we encourage everyone to remain informed and take basic health precautions. Measles is a highly contagious virus that spreads through coughing, sneezing, or close contact. Symptoms may include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash that typically begins on the face and spreads.

To help protect yourself and others:

  • Stay up to date on recommended vaccinations.
  • Practice good hand hygiene.
  • Avoid close contact with individuals who are sick.
  • If you believe you may have been exposed or are experiencing symptoms, please stay home and contact your healthcare provider for guidance before coming to campus.

Students who have health-related concerns may also visit the Cooperative Health Five Points Walk-In Clinic during office hours for support and direction.

Weather Monitoring and Campus Updates
We are actively monitoring the evolving weather forecast for this weekend. While conditions may change, please know that the College is in contact with local and state officials and will continue to carefully assess conditions. We will share updates as needed to keep the campus community informed.
