Columbia College offers a variety of short study tours, intermediate, and semester abroad programs sponsored by various academic divisions and programs such as the honors program. You can even work with faculty to independently propose and plan a study-travel experience.
Where Can I Go?
We offer study abroad opportunities in France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, and Spain during the summer, fall, and spring semesters.
Can I Use Financial Aid or Scholarships?
Certain scholarships and financial aid from Columbia College may apply toward the University of Angers in France or the University of Salamanca in Spain. It's important that you speak with your financial aid counselor if you're interested in studying abroad.
Each semester, the Global Studies committee awards the Dr. Selden K. Smith Endowed Scholarship for Student Global Experience based on the available funds and number of applications. Students who are in good academic and judicial standing and are enrolled in an on campus Undergraduate degree are eligible to apply.
Will I Receive Academic Credit?
You can fulfill your foreign language requirement over a summer visit, or spend a semester becoming more fluent in your chosen language and familiar with the culture. Check with your academic advisor about the possibility of transferring non-language courses.
