Dr. Karen Turner has always appreciated the value of movement and has recognized movement and physical activity as a vital part of human existence. Dr. Turner’s versatile academic teaching background began in physical education at Furman University and included Director of Adult Fitness at both Tulane University and Southeastern Louisiana University. She served as assistant to the steering committee chair for SACS accreditation at the University of Florida. Dr. Turner’s clinical background includes Exercise Specialist in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, Florida where she served on the Million Hearts Committee as well as the Own the Bone Committee.
Dr. Turner has completed four marathons. She is published in the California Journal of Health Promotion as well as the GAHPERD Journal. She enjoys water-coloring, surfing and fishing.
