Dr. LaNaé Budden is the Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students at Columbia College. Prior to becoming Dean, Dr. Budden served as the Director of Student Activities at Columbia College and Program Advisor for Leadership Programs and Women’s Student Services at the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Budden particularly enjoys serving the students at Columbia College and watching them grow during their collegiate career. She says, "I look forward to welcoming new students to Columbia each year and helping them see all the opportunities available to them."
A Virginia native, Dr. Budden is a first-generation college student who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Old Dominion University, a Master of Arts degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University, and a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Budden is an executive board member for South Carolina Women in Higher Education, volunteers in the children’s ministry at her church, and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
