Biography

Jacob Rhoads teaches drawing, painting, and art history at Columbia College, where he is also Chair of the Studio Art Program. He earned a BA in Religious Studies from Grinnell College, an MTS from Harvard Divinity School, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Studio Art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and an MFA from the Hoffberger School of Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art. He has shown at such venues as Regina Rex, Sideshow Gallery, the Maryland Art Place, and the Hudson D. Walker Gallery at the Fine Arts Work Center. In addition to Columbia College, he has taught at Mount Holyoke College, the Maryland Institute College of Art, Loyola University Maryland, and Stevenson University. From 2010-2012, he also worked as the Program Coordinator for the Women’s Studies in Religion Program at Harvard Divinity School.
