We're in this Together

Your health, safety, and well-being are our highest priorities as we open campus this fall. It will take a concerted effort by faculty, staff, and students to keep our campus safe. We're committed to keeping you informed as well as establishing and carrying out policies and procedures to keep you safe, and we ask you to pledge to do your part in return.

Culture of Caring Community Pledge
To ensure the safety of the College community, Columbia College has determined a set of community health policies and expectations for all community members, which will be shared widely and enforced. By signing this pledge, I agree to take responsibility for my own health, demonstrate concern for others, and abide by these expectations and policies.

I Pledge To:

  • Monitor for the symptoms of COVID-19 and report to a medical professional if I experience fever of 100.4 F (38 C) or higher, dry cough, congestion or runny nose, chills, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, or other COVID-19 symptoms identified by health professionals.
  • Wash my hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
  • Get vaccinated for the flu in the fall, if able.
  • Maintain 6 feet of social distancing, especially in the classroom and residential settings.
  • Stay home if I feel ill or after exposure to someone who is ill or has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Report to the College if I have tested positively for COVID-19 in the past or the future and do not return to campus until I verify a negative test from a health professional.
  • Wear an appropriate face mask/covering in the classroom and other public areas as directed by the College.
  • Be positive, attentive, and helpful to anyone around who may need support.
  • Keep my clothing, belongings, personal spaces, and shared common spaces clean.
  • Participate in testing when needed and contact tracing to preserve the wellness of the community.
  • Carefully observe the instructional signs and posters throughout campus and follow directions providing guidance on flow of traffic.
  • Adhere to visitor limitation and understand campus access will be restricted with no overnight guests.
  • Be mindful of interactions with others off-campus. Always wear my face mask/covering and maintain social distancing. Remember, my off-campus behavior directly impacts the health of my campus community.
