COLUMBIA, S.C., June 29, 2022 – Wilma Allen, Vice President for Finance and Administration, will retire after five years of dedicated service to Columbia College. Wilma’s decision to retire is bittersweet for the community, and her leadership and strong commitment to the mission of the institution will certainly be missed.
“I have enjoyed my time here at Columbia College, being a part of the dynamic change that has led the College forward in such a short time. I will miss working with the faculty, staff, and students, but I look forward to retirement and spending time with my family,” said Wilma Allen.
“Columbia College is endlessly fortunate to have been led by Wilma over the last five years. She joined the team in a time of immense transition and has never wavered in sharing her diverse professional experience to benefit the College. Two years ago, we were preparing a monitoring report for SACSCOC, applying for the PPP loan as part of federal relief during a global pandemic, and getting organized to refinance our debt. In the present, Columbia College is THRIVING, all thanks to the person who has led the charge: Wilma,” said President of Columbia College Tom Bogart.
Wilma has over 30 years of experience in finance and accounting and is known professionally for building and developing strong, functional teams that thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments. Wilma has worked tirelessly to lead the College to where we find ourselves now: growing rapidly and looking toward future success.
Wilma will remain in her role as Vice President for Finance and Administration until September 30, 2022. A national search will be conducted to identify Wilma’s successor, and details regarding the search will be released at a later date.
