Healthcare Administration is a master's-level professional degree granted to students who complete a course of study in the knowledge and competencies needed for careers in health administration, involving the management of hospitals and other health services organizations, as well as public health infrastructure and consulting.

Health administration or healthcare administration is the field relating to leadership, management, and administration of public health systems, health care systems, hospitals, and hospital networks. Health systems management or health care systems management describes the leadership and general management of hospitals, hospital networks, and/or health care systems.

Course Requirements

Master of Arts in Healthcare Administration requires a total of 30 hours of graduate courses and electives. Courses are taught in 8 week modules. The curriculum aligns with the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Administration (CAHME), and nationally-recognized Healthcare Administration principles and learning outcomes appropriate for graduates, as promulgated by several nationally recognized credentialing and accreditation organizations, such as the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Healthcare Financial Management Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) and others for Healthcare Management. The program helps students understand organizational dynamics, develop leadership skills and develop social responsibility.
