What You'll Learn
The mathematics education degree at Columbia College is designed to provide you with a core set of courses as well as advanced mathematical techniques to prepare you for a career in mathematics education or for a successful transition to graduate school. You'll learn to practice the art of logical reasoning, the skills of problem solving, and the joy of collaborative work while using some of the best technology available in the Barbara Bush Science Center.
Your courses will be split between mathematics and education and you'll complete a teaching certification during your degree.
As a successful graduate from our mathematics education program, you'll be ready to teach mathematics at the secondary level up to the high school level. If you choose to pursue a graduate degree, the solid foundation in mathematics provided by our undergraduate degree will give you the tools to succeed in advanced areas.
