Apply for Transfer
If you’re interested in college to university transfer programs, apply for free to Columbia College and receive a free transfer evaluation.
If you've completed classes of any kind at a college or university after the completion of high school, you're considered a transfer student. High school students who completed dual enrollment courses are not considered transfer students. (Please note: transfer students are not eligible to apply for the Nursing program).
Steps to Apply
1. Complete Your Free Application
Fill out our Common Application, or our institutional application. We treat both applications the same so choose whichever you prefer.
2. Request Your Official Transcript
Contact your previous school’s registrar's office and ask them to send an official copy of your transcripts to our admissions office.
Your transcripts can be sent electronically to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can also mail your transcripts:
ATTN: Admissions Office
1301 Columbia College Drive
Columbia, SC 29203
3. Receive an Official College Credit Transfer Evaluation
During this transfer evaluation, our team will assess your situation and determine what steps you should take to receive the most transfer credits and graduate on your schedule.
Will My Credits Transfer?
Only classes in which you have received a 2.0 or higher will be accepted and we reserve the right to determine which courses meet the requirements and standards of the College. We accept transfer credits from regionally accredited colleges and universities, and we'll accept up to 90 credits.
Transfer Admission Decision
In most cases, we evaluate an application and respond with an admission decision and transfer evaluation within one week of receiving all the required documents.
