Wellness in Action brings together education, movement, and community partnership to promote healthier futures for students and families. Through hands-on learning, physical activity, and accessible wellness resources, the initiative empowers participants to turn knowledge into action and strengthen the surrounding community and beyond.

Student Education Days (April 15 & 16)
- Hands-on wellness workshops, healthy cooking demonstrations, guided fitness sessions, and healthcare career exposure
- Grade-based learning for elementary through high school students
The Wellness in Action Festival (April 25)
The day will begin with a 5K, then all are invited to join us across the finish line for a full day of health and wellness activities:
- Guided post-race yoga and sound healing sessions for relaxation and mindfulness
- High-energy dance classes to promote movement and heart health
- Live music – creating a vibrant festival atmosphere
- Chef Challenge featuring healthy cooking demonstrations and practical nutrition tips
- Art therapy and creative wellness activities
- Community movie screening centered on resilience and well-being
- Interactive health stations, screenings, and hands-on workshops
- Local vendors and community organizations sharing resources, demonstrations, and family-friendly activities

- Student sponsors will give each student a free entry into the 5K race and help students with purchasing new athletic shoes to participate in the 5K.
Students, families, educators, and community members of all fitness levels are encouraged to attend and participate throughout the day.

The 5K Walk/Run/Roll format welcomes all mobility levels; accessible pathways and restrooms are provided.

- What are safety & security like at the event?
The Columbia College Police Department and other professional, trained community partners are present throughout the event for safety and security purposes.
- Is there an alternative weather plan?
Outdoor elements may shift based on conditions; updates are posted online and sent via email should any changes occur.
