Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is an international service organization that was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. on January 15, 1908.  It is the oldest Greek-lettered organization established by African American college-educated women. The purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind.” The Upsilon Zeta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was chartered at Columbia College on March 4, 2018.

Alpha Sigma Alpha

Alpha Sigma Alpha is a women’s organization that is part of the National Panhellenic Council and promotes high ideals and standards for its members throughout their lives by emphasizing balance among the four aims of intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual development. Alpha Sigma Alpha does this by providing opportunities throughout sisterhood, heritage, leadership, and service. The vision of Alpha Sigma Alpha is to cultivate values and ideals in women who are known for their character and concern for others and strives to inspire women to lead, to serve, and most of all, to make a difference. The Iota Theta chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha (ΑΣΑ) was officially installed in Columbia College on November 10, 2018. Because of the strong emphasis placed on growth through leadership, the women of the Iota Theta Chapter are all unique, strong, and motivated women who have the desire to leave a positive impact on all who meet them.

Delta Sigma Theta

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Since its founding more than 300,000 women have joined the organization. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college educated women. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 13, 1913 by 22 collegiate women at Howard University. The Upsilon Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was chartered at Columbia College on October 9. 2020.
