Columbia, South Carolina: The concert will feature both original and re-staged works by the Columbia College dance faculty, guest artists, and alumni. Through timeless works and exciting new pieces, this concert will represent the faculty’s diverse array of artistry at Columbia College.
The concert opens with a live performance of the Columbia College vocal ensemble, High C’s who accompanies dancers a capella in celebration that “The storm is passing over. Hallelujah!”
This year’s guest artist, Rosie Trump of the University of Nevada Reno, presents Pantsuited performed by selected members of the CC Dance Company. Trump's work is nostalgic in style, feminist, and deliberately understated.
Associate Director of the Power Company Collaborative, Amanda Ling, will premiere original, compelling work while Martha Brim’s Faded Love, restaged by Jessica Moore, features apprentice members of the Power Company Collaborative who illuminate the nearly 20 year-old repertory with grace and grit. Erin Bailey contributes multiple works to the program including original solo and group choreography celebrating the moving body in process and performance.
