"Pendulum" is now on view at Goodall Gallery.
This exhibition of installation work combines sculpture, video, and sound to represent domestic space as a psychological one. Doorways, drains, and sinks become cast architectural fragments of domesticity. Familiar yet altered, these sculptures challenge boundaries between the real and imagined. Like a photograph, these extractions encapsulate memory, freezing a moment in time. Oscillating between clarity and distortion, the collected imagery and auditory fragments mimic the fluidity of memory and time. Together, this multi-media work manifests emotional resonance by capturing the essence of domestic life and blurring the line between the familiar and the unknown.
We invite you to join us for the opening reception on Thursday, September 19th, from 5-7PM. This event also serves as a closing reception for "Future Tense; Infinite Horizons," an exhibition of local work curated by @_._.w.o.n.d.e.r. in the LOFT Gallery.
While Newman's display of installation works combines sculpture, video, and sound to represent domestic space as a psychological one, "Future Tense" offers viewers a hopeful vision of tomorrow, where art functions as a gateway to collective freedom and progress. Please join us for art, culture, and refreshments!
Artist talks at 5:45 PM.
