Biography

Kala was born in Alabama and raised on the Gulf Coast but the Smokey Mountains is where she calls home. She obtained a B. A. in Nineteenth Century American Literature from the University of Tennessee, where she also obtained her M.S. in Information Sciences. She focused mainly on library instruction and reference, with a concentration in Universal Design for Learning. For the past 3 years she has worked as a Supervisor for Hodge's Library.

In her free time she spends time outdoors with her husband and two her two dogs, Cleo and Sam. She enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading.
