Biography
Kara Beck Dye joyfully joins the Columbia College staff from a career in nonprofit management and marketing. She completed her undergraduate degree with a Major in Public Relations and a minor in English from Appalachian State University. Following graduation, Kara moved to Asheville, NC, where she served NovusWay Ministries – a Lutheran camp and conference organization with four sites across the southeast (Lutheridge, Lutherock, Luther Springs, and Lutheranch) – as Public Relations/Marketing Coordinator for over two years. She then moved back home to Aiken, SC, where she continued her career in outdoor ministry as Director of Marketing and Development for Gravatt Camp and Conference Center. After a lifetime spent celebrating the summer camp experience, Kara is thrilled to share her gifts with the Columbia College community, writing and distributing stories that demonstrate how special and transformative the collegiate experience is: especially at Columbia College!
Kara’s heart remains in the mountains as well as anywhere one may find her husband Parker, daughter Ruby, and bernedoodle Ridge.
